The crescent was very thin.
Wednesday (today) is Conjunction Day so last day. On Conjunction Day moon gets fully veiled/ shadowed / covered and it shows the passing of the month. ( Please refer Tafsir Ibn Kathir - verse 71:16).
Hence, THURSDAY (25 Sep) is 1st of Zul Hijjah; Day of Arafaah is on Friday (3rd Oct) & Eidul Adha is on Saturday (4 Oct).Sighting of "al Urjoonal qadeem" on Tuesday, which was the 29th day of Zul Qaidha confirms that the monthstarted on Tuesday (26 Aug) and such a beginning was further confirmed by the sight of first waxing crescent on that Tuesday after sun-set. As you are aware, by sun-set the day-light part of the first day gets over. So, with yesterday's sight of "al urjoonal qadeem", the moon has shown 29 visible phases to mankind and today (Wednesday) it is the 30th phase which will not be seen today, anywhere in the world. This confirms that those who have started the month of Zul Qaidah on Wednesday or Thursday ( 27th or 28th of Aug) have started this month on a wrong day. This being one of the Sacred months, starting on a wrong day amounts to "Nassie" which Noble Qur'an (9:37) states as "ziyaadathun fil Kufr". ASTAGFIRULLAH !!!May Almighty Allah forgive the sins, errors & faults of all of us. Aameen. We, the members of Hijri Committee of India, have counted all the 30 days of Zul Qaidha and confirm that Wednesday (24 Sep) is the 30th day of Zul Qaidha 1435.Hence, THURSDAY (25 Sep) is 1st of Zul Hijjah; Day of Arafaah is on Friday (3rd Oct) & Eidul Adha is on Saturday (4 Oct). We, Members of Hijri Committee of India hereby bear witness thatthere is no Deity worthy of worship except Almighty Allah and thatMuhammed (Sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) is His Messenger and Slave("Ash Hadu An Laa Ilaa ha IllAllah Wa Ash Hadu An Na MuhammadanAbduhu Wa Rasooluhu")and further bear witness that 1st of Zul Hijjah 1435 starts at Fajr on Thursday(25th Sep. 2014) & further bear witness that the Day of Arafaah falls on Friday(3rd Oct 2014) and that Eidul Adha for the whole Muslim Ummah falls on Saturday(4th Oct 2014).We request Muslims all over the world, especially the Saudi authoritiesto make arrangements so that Eidul Adha is celebrated on Saturday (4th Oct)all over the world.ALL ARE REQUESTED TO FAST ON FRIDAY (3rd of Oct) WHICH IS THE DAY OF ARAFAAH, AS PER THEMOON-PHASES, DECREED BY ALMIGHTY ALLAH ON THE VERY DAY OF CREATION.Please note that the fast on the Day of Arafaah expiates the sins of 2 years. ALHUMDULILLAH !!!Hence, make sure that you are fasting on the correct day, as per moon-phases which show the dates for Hajj (Noble Qur'an 2:189).
Those who intend to offer sacrifice are advised to offer it before the Fajr of Wednesday ( 14th Zul Hijjah - 8 Oct)and further advised that they should not trim their nails or remove hair, from Fajr of Thursday (1st of Zul Hijjah - 25 Sep) till the sacrifice is given.
May Almighty Allaah give us Toufeeqe to do Ibaadaah on correct dates as taught by our beloved Prophet (Sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam). Aameen.May all our deeds, especially those in the first 10 days of Zul Hijjah as well as the fast on the Day of Arafaah be accepted by Almighty Allaah. Aameen
Wa salaam
