Assalaamu Alaikkum wa Rahmathullaahi wa Barakaathu hu
Very happy to note that Saudi Arabia along with countries who follow their decisions, FCNA/ISNA
as well as Hijri Committee (in various countries) started Sha'baan on Tuesday which was the correct day.
Though Saudi Arabia, ISNA/FCNA started Rajab, one of the sacred months, on the wrong day,
they ended it on the correct day (Monday). ALHUMDULILLAAH !
Majority of Muslims in the world including those in Kerala (India) started as well as ended Rajab
on wrong days !! It is very disturbing to note that "nassie " which amounts to "ziadathin fil kufr"
is being committed again and again, even after repeated reminders and warnings.
The phases of the moon for this month are fat, indicating that there will be only 29 days for
this Sha'baan. This fact puts those who started Sha'baan on wrong days, to start the month
of Ramdhaan too on wrong days. They will lose one or even two days of fasting, without valid
reasons of travel or illness. They should remember that if fasting of one day in Ramdhaan is
lost without valid reasons, it cannot be compensated fully even if one fasts for one's entire life.
Hence all are requested to correct their dates in Sha'baan so that Ramdhaan can be started on
the correct day.
As per the website of Dr. Khalid Shaukat, the first crescent of Sha'baan 1436 was seen only on 19th
(Tuesday) evening, in Australia.
So, it is crystal clear that Saudi Arabia started Sha'baan on Tuesday , NOT by seeing the hilaal on
Monday, but on calculations. . This vindicates our stand and proves that Saudi authorities,
depend only on calculations and not on sighting of the hilaal.
In Makkah, on Monday the moon set was after 21 minutes of the setting of Sun. But, as per
Astronomical parameters, the hilaal an be seen only if this difference is about 48 minutes.
The illumination too was very low, below 1%. So it is evident enough that NO HILAAL WAS SEEN
ON Monday, in Saudi Arabia.
It would be better if Saudi Arabia come out openly announcing that they depend entirely on the
Calculations and not on sighting and also that their calculations are based on the criteria of
Moon setting even one minute after the setting of Sun at Makkah.
Such an announcement will clear the confusion of Millions of Muslims. It will enable millions
of Muslims not to wait for the sighting of SETTING hilaal in the West in order to start the months.
As all will agree, such waiting forces millions of Muslims to start the new month one or two
days late. They stand to lose the fasting of 1 or 2 days of Ramdhaan and also will commit the haraam act of
fasting on the day of Eid (in case of Shawwal).
We would like to remind all that the criterion of Moon setting after the Sun, in Makkah, will not
always enable them to start the new month on the correct day. The correct criterion is to accept
the Universal day in which conjunction takes place as the last day of the month and to start
the new month at Fajr on the following Universal day, irrespective of Sun-set/Moon set difference
at Makkah or elsewhere.
All are requested to observe all the phases of Sha'baan as practiced by the Prophet (Sallallaahu
alaihi wa sallam), so that Ramdhaan can be started on the correct day.
May Almighty Allaah give us Taufeeq to start and end Ramdhaan on the correct days, as decreed
by HE, the Almighty on the very day of creation. Aameen
May Almighty Allaah keep all of us in the Right Path and provide all of us with a place in
Jannathul Firdouse. Aameen
