My Dear Brothers & Sisters of Islam,
Assalamu Alaikkum (wrwb).
My dear Br. ********* has put main question to solve the Uniform Hijri Calendar as:
"Those who argue for uniform Hijiri Calendar on the basis of the astronomical calculation should clarify first when does the Day/ date begins ie in the Fajr or after Magrib?"
Besides it, I would like to record some more important questions.
1. No singular word of Crescent is used in Quran while Arabic has specific word as “HILAL”. But its plural only used as “AHILLAH” (Refer Al-Quran: 2:189) Why?
Please see its (Ahillah) usage noted in the same verse. So, whether we should see daily crescents throughout the year or one or two days in 354/355 days of Hijri lunar Calendar?
2. If we decide to see crescents as per Ahadhees, where (the direction whether east or west) and when (the time in the morning or in the evening) should be decided. Majority of Muslims see in the west in the evening. Is it rising crescent or setting crescent?
Then the regional day/date can be easily understood as per divine revelations of Al-Quran verse 2:187 and 97:5.
It is an elementary knowledge that in every circle, the ending point will be the beginning point of next same circle. Please see verse 2:187 says “Minal Fajr” (from the dawn) and in verse 97:5 say “Hatha Mathla’al Fajr” (till rising of dawn). So, it is crystal clear that the day and its date start from “FAJR” (Dawn) as per God’s verdict. But most of the Muslims never observe “Fajr” prayer, while Allah has explained the importance of Fajr in His Holy Testament. (Refer al-Quran: 17:78) except in the month of Ramadan but they usually pray only “Subh”.
Unless and until we understand these points we cannot arrive Uniform Hijri Lunar Calendar.
This is my humble request to all.
Wassalam.
