---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Chief Editor, Hijri Committee of India <editorhijri@gmail.com> Date: Mon, Jun 15, 2015 at 12:11 PM Subject: "We bear witness that Ramdhaan 1436 starts on Wednesday, at Fajr" To: webmaster@shura.gov.sa Cc: Khalid Shaukat <moonsighting@gmail.com>, Mohammad Odeh <modeh@icoproject.org>, Qamar Uddin <qamar.uddin@uk2.net>, Salman Shaikh <salman.shaikh@alcatel-lucent.com>, "omarafzal1@yahoo.com" <omarafzal1@yahoo.com>, sultan alam <sultanalam_74@yahoo.com>, (BISMILAAHI   R'RAHMAANI   R'RAHEEM) ​Dear Brothers in Islaam Assalaamu Alaikkum wa Rahmathullaahi wa Barakaathu hu "Al urjoonal qadeem" (last visible phase for a month as described in verse 36:39) of  Sha'baan   was seen at many places, including Saudi Arabia, India,  at Fajr,  today  (Monday).  It was about 7 degrees above the horizon  and the horns were at  5 & 9 positions.   It was very thin.  The appearance was so thin a  crescent and its position  was so low on the Eastern horizon which confirm that it will not be seen  tomorrow (Tuesday) and that Tuesday   is the Day of Conjunction.   Ibn Katheer (Rah) while explaining verse 71:16 says that the complete veiling/shadowing  of moon marks the end of a month.   So it is correct as per Sharia to consider  the Day of Conjunction as the last day of the month. Hence, Wednesday is the first of Ramdhaan 1436 for all in the world  and all Muslims must  fast from the Fajr of Wednesday. Hijri Committee uf India  has observed all the phases of Sha'baan as practiced   by the Prophet Sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam). ALHUMDULILLAH ! More over, according to the Astronomical calculations, the moon sets after the setting  of Sun on Tuesday at  many  places in the world.  We are giving below few  places where Moon sets after the setting of Sun on Tuesday (16 June): 1)  Santiago (Chile) - Moon sets  nearly 28 minutes after Sun-set 2) Cape Town (South Africa) - Moon sets  nearly 15 minutes after sun-set 3)  Ibadan (Nigeria) - Moon sets  nearly 2 minutes after sun-set ​    4)  Dar es salaam (Tanzania) - Moon sets  1 minute  ​after Sun-set.         (You may please note that Dar es Salaam ( 39.780) & Makkah (39.820) have        almost same longitude.) Though considering the Moonset-Sunset difference in order to start a new  lunar month is not always correct, astronomically,  we have given the above data  ​only ​ to prove that the hilaal gets established on the ​ Day of Conjunction itself and hence  starting the new month at Fajr  on the following  day is correct as per Sharia.    Additionally, you may please note that at majority of places moon rises after the Sun  on Wednesday (17 June) ​.  ​ ​ Moon rises aft ​e​ r sun, follows it and appears  at the Western  sky after Sun-set. This is what Noble Qur'aan says in Surrah As Shums ( wal qamari izza talaaha ...). ​The Sahaba (RA) knew about this phenomenon (moon following the Sun)  occuring on the first day of the month.  Please refer the explanation given in  Tafsir Ibn Katheer  for Verses 91:1 & 2. Hence, Wednesday is the first day of Ramdhaan 1436. ​Considering all the above-mentioned facts, we take the following swearing:​ ​   We, Members of Hijri Committee ​ of India do ​  hereby bear witness that  there is no Deity worthy of worship except Almighty Allah  and that  Muhammed (Sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) is His Messenger and Slave ("Ash Hadu An Laa Ilaa ha IllAllah Wa Ash  Hadu An Na Muhammadan  Abduhu Wa Rasooluhu")  and we, Members of Hijri Committee of India   further bear witness that  1st of  Ramdhaan 1436 starts at Fajr on   Wesnesday (17th June 2015) & request  Muslims all over the world to fast  from the pre-dawn of Wednesday (17th June 2015) without fail.  All Muslims are requested not to lose even one day's fasting without valid reasons like  travel & Illness.  Please  fast from the pre-dawn of Wednesday.  We once again request the Saudi authorities to switch back to the Original Ummul Qurrah followed by them till 1420 H, which has the correct criteria as a  Universal Calendar which enables to start all the Hijri months on correct day of the  week, 100% as per Sharia.    Dr. Fadhl Ahmed who formulated the Original Ummul  Qurrah for 1300H to 1429 has formulated 2000 years calendar, before he passed away  2 years back.  May Almighty Allaah grant him Magfirath.  Aameen. May Almighty Allah forgive all our sins and may He, the Almighty accept our good deeds and reward all of us immensely  in this world as well as in the Hereafter and  provide all of us with a place in Jannathul Firdouse.
