Dear Brothers & Sisters in Islaam
Assalaamu Alaikkum wa Rahmathullaahi wa Barakaathu hu
Fasting for the month of Ramdhaan 1436 was started on Wednesday by members
of Hijri Committee spread in India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia as well as GCC.
According to the moon phases of Sha'baan Tuesday (16 June) was the 29th day and
during the month 28 visible phases were seen, from Tuesday (19 May) till Monday (15 June).
Many in the world witnessed "al urjoonal Qadeem" for the month of Sha'baan on this Monday.
Tuesday (16th June) was the day of Conjunction and hence the last day of the month.
ALHUMDULILLAAH !! We could start the fasting from Wednesday which was the correct
day as per moon-phases which show the dates (Noble Qur'aan 2:189).
But majority of countries including Saudi Arabia, USA, Canada (ISNA/FCNA) started the month
from sun-set of Wednesday and fasted from the Fajr of Thursday. Many more countries like
Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India (except Kerala), Australia, New Zealand are planning to start
the fasting from Friday !! We do not know if any country is there to start it on Saturday !!
What a pity !! 1-9-1436 falls on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, .... !!!
Do not you think that such an occurrence will be tolerated by anyone else other than Muslims ??
Almighty Allaah Himself has certified that Islam is Perfect, Complete and is without any errors.
All the Muslims too believe in it. But majority of them are careless when one Hijri date falls on 3 or 4
days of the week !! The deplorable part is that they try to justify such an atrocious error.
Most muslims do not understand the importance given to the dating system in Islam. Many
may be surprised when we say that Almighty Allaah has given importance for the dating system
at par with the importance given to Tauheed, Salaah & Zakaath.
We request all to read the verses 12:40, 98:5 along with 9:36 to know what constitute
"zaalika deenul qayyim" (The Right Religion).
We have been telling all these years that the Muslim majority are following the Jewish tradition of
starting the 24-hour period (day) at Magrib and the tradition of seeing the crescent with
naked eye and informing such sighting to religious scholars and they in turn declare the
start of the new month. We have also been telling for years that such a start, in fact, forces
them to follow Jewish/Hebrew Calendar, knowingly or un-knowingly.
Many months, including Ramdhaan, Shawwaal as well as Zul Hijjah were started on wrong days.
Those who have started this month of Ramdhaan on Thursday have also fallen on the same
trap as Thursday is in fact the 1st day of Tamuz Jewish month !! Please scroll down to see

This fault by the majority of Muslims reminds us of the following hadeeth :
“Allah's Messenger (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: 'You will indeed follow the ways of
those before you, hand span by hand span, and an arms length after another. Even if
they enter into a lizard’s hole, you will follow them.’ We (the Sahaba) asked, ‘Is it the
Jews and the Christians?’ He replied, ‘Who else!’” [Bukhari]
ASTAGFIRULLAAH !!
May Almighty Allaah save all Muslims from falling into the category of those who follow Jews
and Christians as described in the hadeeth.
As sworn by us in the earlier mail, Ramdhaan 1436 started from the Fajr of Wednesday and
hence all are requested to correct their dates of Ramdhaan and request Scholars /authorities
to issue a Fatawa to fast for the lost days after Eidul Fitre.
Noble Qur'aan says that fasting is for "ayyaaman mah'doodhaat" . So if the prescribed days
are 30 -from Wednesday to Thursday, then it is binding on all to fast on 30 days on these days.
It should neither be for 30 days from Thursday to Friday nor for 29 days by some people.
May Almighty Allaah forgive all our sins, faults and errors and may HE the Almighty
provide all of us with a place in Jannathul Firdouse. Aameen
